Solar lighting – reducing rape in IDP camps

Two recent articles report that the presence of street and area lighting significantly reduce incidences of rape in IDP camps in Somalia.  The first article, from ABC News, reflects the situation in a camp in Mogadishu (link), the second is focused on Jowle, outside Garowe in Puntland (link).  Both give clear evidence that street and area lighting increases security and safety in the camps.  More is needed.
